Throughout the history of time, hatred, wars, natural disasters, diseases and conflicts have forced us to run away in order
to find a new place to live. Each and every step of the way towards escaping and exile causes our identity to break up, crack, dry up and fall off in order to make room for a brand new identity. And when the old identity breaks up, memories start getting blurry and then they disappear. This journey is a transformation, it’s a ritual, it’s also an inner and painful journey. It brings us together and awakens in us a cry of rebirth through tribal and ancestral music. That journey transforms us into matter, where we return to the origin of creation, to the core of universal memory.
There we face new paths and leave our old bodies behind. This journey means not returning to the past.
We present an interdisciplinary workshop, a fusion between two main languages: Performance and Sculpture.
Neither of these artistic languages predominates over the other, as we create a symbiosis that will dictate
how the workshop develops, resulting in a final performance.
In this workshop, clay is the only protagonist. The workshop’s final objective being a performance in front of an audience. Participants are given the opportunity to experience the language of performance.
We explore a new creative approach, investigating the aesthetics and plasticity of the language represented by performance and sculpture.
The emphasis will be on how the workshop is made rather than its completion. The ‘Now’ as the essence of Performance.
